please dont let the pretty boys scare you. my best friend has taught me that, by using metaphors related to oceans and how people will often drown in your high tides. they cant always be saved, you’re not the lifeguard and they should have joined the swimming class.
some boys have the power to break you. dont let them know that, they dont need to know that. they have smirks that melt your heart and words that stop your heart. it’s not always going to be real and they’re going to play with your feelings like i used to play with my bandaids and wounds when i was 7. but bandaids help and wounds heal, and so, so will you.
sometimes they’ll be pretty and good to you, i’ll like him and you’ll love him. but dear, when his heart belongs to someone else, it will hurt. those boys are the scariest. they have the power to hurt you with one line of poetry written just for her. they can kill you with one look and one touch. i’ve felt it, i’ve lived and i’ve seen it. skip school, eat ice cream and get lost in the physics of love. it’s not going to make sense, the chapters are too complicated and every word is written in italics and bold. they even dance if you stare for too long.
some boys dont quite know the meaning of love yet, but that’s okay. please dont blame them, they’ll reach their stage too. they will show you they love you, they will massage your shoulders and hug you when you have a fight with your mother dearest. they’ll give you fatherly hugs when you miss your father and will carry you when you’ve had too much to drink. they’ll also stop you from buying expensive cigarettes and will get you gum instead. they dont want you to die but with every thing they do, you will slowly die. you will wither like my favourite plant in winter (strawberries almost never survive winter.)
there will be pretty boys, there will be boys not that cute, there will be boys who’ll know every single detail about you and there will also be just boys and all will always be just boys, please dont let them scare you.
